My one star is only for the physical work that was done, and zero stars for everything else. The work that was done on my roof was good, but everything else was a nightmare. This is my first ever home damage claim. My insurance had come out to assess the damage to my property in June 2023 (a different roofing company was supposed to come out too, but they never showed up so I did not continue with them), and my insurance had suggested I wait until after hail season to get my roof replaced, which I agreed. I was referred to Affordable by a trusted resource that has used them multiple times and started the process with them and signed the contract early, but also let them know September 2023 would be when I wanted it done. They took all the numbers from my insurance claim and we signed the contract. As I said in the beginning, the work done was good and they came out in September 2023 like I requested. They did need to come back the next day because they didn’t have enough shingles, but they were clean, courteous, and quick! This is where things get bad. I knew the next step was an inspection, and it was SO difficult to get a hold of anyone at Affordable (this is a recurring theme) to get them to get the inspection scheduled. I was getting nervous because it had been over a month since the roof was done, but it was finally inspected in mid November 2023. After that, I was expecting a final invoice. I emailed and emailed inquiring on the status of the final invoice and never got responses. I finally received the invoice in APRIL 2024, and it was DOUBLE what I signed for in the original contract (which was what my insurance approved) and there was no note about contacting my insurance for a supplemental request either. I contacted Affordable and my insurance letting them all know this situation. My insurance denied the supplemental requests at first (it was submitted multiple times to them by Affordable), and Affordable would not adjust their invoice. All while this is happening, I’m getting emails from others at Affordable asking for payment, which I would not provide until I knew the invoice was adjusted, or the supplemental request was approved by my insurance. I was fully prepared to pay the ADJUSTED amount that my insurance had originally approved and what Affordable’s contract said. They were claiming to me that my insurance HAD approved the supplemental request and said they paid me in FULL even though I had emails from my insurance stating otherwise. Some of the emails I received about making the final payment seemed very pressuring, and threatening late charges, legal fees, and lien fees! I felt like they were bullying me to pay everything even though my insurance had only approved HALF of what they were asking for. All of this communication happened from April 2024, until September 2024, and in September 2024 (when nothing was resolved yet), I started getting emails stating my invoice is past due even though I was actively communicating with everyone (even though I wasn’t getting many replies from most people at Affordable). At one point, I was told my invoice reflected Boulder County pricing, and they switched it to Fort Collins (Larimer County), but I’m in Weld County.. So that didn’t make any sense to me at all. In my opinion, Affordable bullied my insurance into approving the supplemental request, because they did approve it in the end, a year after the work was done. It was finally all completed in November of 2024..
All in all, this was not a pleasant first experience with getting my roof replaced on my first home, and I won’t recommend Affordable to anyone. The lack of communication and pressure to pay an invoice that’s double what I signed for in the contract is unacceptable and unprofessional. I wouldn’t wish all the anxiety and tears I experienced due to this situation over the past year on anyone.

They had the low bid by a good amount, which I thought was reasonable. They got it done in just a bit over a day and it was incredible how fast it happened. Quality is good, passed inspection, cleaned up everything outside including gutters. They re-did the decking for not too much more money, added a roofline vent which looks good, can hardly tell it’s there and won’t interfere with a solar installation down the road.

When Shannon first came to my front door, and we spoke a bit, I pretty much knew right away that I wanted Affordable to do the work.
Like Shannon, Ethan, who is managing the job, was just as authentic and caring as Shannon.
The job was done in a day and a half with roofers who were friendly and careful to not only do the roof right but to clean up my front yard, nicely. Instead of a tarp, they used netting to cover the garage, so that air could flow through, which I greatly appreciated. This is my first experience with roofers on a home that I own, and I would hire them again in a New York second. All in all it was a great experience and my roof looks awesome!

We had the recent misfortune of having Affordable Roofing replace the roof next door to us. What I learned was that being an accommodating neighbor led to full blown exploitation by this company.

First, I came home to discover that the crew had let themselves into my closed off backyard without permission. Keep in mind, I am the neighbor NOT the client.

Second, after I allowed them to continue working in the backyard and being told that all debris would be removed, I came home a second time to discover that the tarp they had been using to collect falling material had been moved to the neighbor’s driveway, and that nails, cigarette butts, and trash were scattered about in my yard and air conditioning unit. Additionally, now my front yard had tools, equipment, and trash scattered across it. If someone came driving by, they would have assumed our house was the one having work done on it.

Third, when I spoke to the crew that this was unacceptable and needed to be rectified, I was met with looks of contempt, as apparently trashing the neighbor’s yard is normal business for Affordable Roofing.

Lastly, when I called the office, they put me in touch with the project manager, who apologized and assured me that the crew would make sure to pick up all the nails and trash before they left and that there would be a final walkthrough the following day, where the person conducting the inspection would speak with me and confirm everything had been cleaned up. Two days have now passed, no one has come by. Moreover, we had an event at our house on Sunday, where children playing in the backyard kept running in to the house to hand us nails they had found.

I highly recommend this company if you want to sour relations with your neighbors.

Affordable Roofing installed the reroofing due to hail damage on our residence in Laramie. The entire process from the initial inspection and estimation by Mike McCarrel through the installation by the roofing crew led by Project Manager Jackson Simpson and foreman Juan Pablo was conducted efficiently, courteously, and professionally. Despite a large number of local claims and resulting roofing product shortages, timely scheduling and response by Kim Trionfera, Production Manager and Jennifer Johnson, Service Coordinator insured our project was completed in a reasonable timeframe (pending final insurance settlement). Special shoutout to Juan Pablo and his crew in their thorough and careful attention to protect and remove waste from our landscaping and adjacent structures, in their courteous and diligent work ethic, and in addressing our specials concerns towards an existing construction flashing defect.
