We did a major home renovation/addition and wanted a standing seam metal roof. Living in a fire zone, this was important to us. Additionally, a metal roofing system can last 50 years. However, it was very difficult to find a roofer that works with standing seam. And the ones we found not only took forever to give us a price, the estimates were astronomical. With the clock ticking, we almost settled on a basic asphalt roof because we needed to close up. They even came back and fixed a portion that another contractor dented in while working and installed all the vents as promised!
