Carlos Beltran did an excellent job! Knew what he was doing, had the right equipment and fast! Carlos arrived about 30-45 minutes after I called. I promptly received a text and an email on the ETA and the price was reasonable. It doesn’t get any better than this.

This review is based on my *second* experience with Rooter Hero, and unfortunately, it only confirmed what I suspected after the first time — this company is all about pushing expensive services whether you need them or not. Two completely unrelated plumbing issues, two separate visits, and both times the same upsell nonsense.

Over a year ago, I had a clogged bathroom line. They showed up fast, I’ll give them that — but that’s where the praise ends. The tech started snaking from outside, poked around for a bit, then immediately jumped to diagnosing “roots in the drain.” Of course, to confirm it, they needed to run a camera — *for a hefty price*, naturally. I declined. Then came the pitch for a hydro flush. Again, I declined — we have home warranty coverage and I wasn’t about to drop a fortune without trying that route. They warned the snake would only fix it for “a few hours.” Well, guess what? It’s been over a year and we’ve been just fine. Warranty company eventually sent someone, ran a camera, and everything was perfectly clear. Go figure.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago — this time, kitchen drain issue. Needed it fixed quickly and couldn’t remember which company pulled the hydro flush stunt last time… until Rooter Hero showed up. Again, fast response, but as soon as the plumber started, I knew. He ran the snake for maybe 30 seconds, then said, “Too much stuff — you need a hydro flush.” *Aha! It’s these guys again!* Apparently, hydro flush is their answer for *everything*. Got a cold? Try a hydro flush! Stubbed your toe? Hydro flush! Honestly, if you’re constipated, just call Rooter Hero — they’ll “clear it out” in no time.

He quoted $1600 for the hydro flush. I declined. Then he pulls the classic sales tactic — calls his “boss” to back him up. Please. I work in sales, I know a pressure move when I see one. The “boss” actually *increased* the quote to over $1800. Again, I declined. I asked the guy to try a bit harder — actually *do the job* he came for. He clearly didn’t want to. Didn’t really make an effort, just wanted to sell the big job. I said I’d pay for the work performed, but he barely tried. Left a mess from the snaking, then said, “I’ll come back to clean up after I put my tools away.” Walked out and never came back. Didn’t clean a thing. Just disappeared. Unprofessional doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Bottom line: this company is laser-focused on upselling hydro flushes and getting out of there as fast as possible. Good, honest effort? Forget it. And their so-called “boss” backing up pricing over the phone without being on-site? That tells you everything you need to know about how they operate.

I’m glad other people have had good experiences, but that wasn’t my reality — not once, but twice. I’ll never call Rooter Hero again, and I’ll be making sure everyone I know hears this story too. Be warned.
