In reality, this was nothing more than a bait-and-switch tactic to lure people in.
All employees were misclassified as 1099 contractors, regardless of the nature of the work or the level of control the company maintained over our schedules. This alone was sketchy — but it got worse. Many of us were never paid for completed jobs. Payments were constantly delayed or withheld altogether, with vague excuses and zero accountability.
The lack of transparency and integrity from management was alarming. They set unrealistic expectations, refused to honor agreements, and treated people like they were disposable. Several of my colleagues left frustrated and unpaid, having wasted months of effort under the illusion of financial opportunity.
