I’m very pleased with my experience using Affordable. Initially I called for a service on my tankless water heater. Ultimately the water heater ended up being replaced. Gage P performed the majority of the work at my residence. There were some hiccups due to some DIY that I attempted and Gage not only corrected them but taught me where I fell short so I not only had my problem fixed but I learned what not to do next time. I feel confident if I had a plumbing issue again that these guys would make it right.
Gage, Ben, Robbie, Matt, and Brandon are to be commended for their professionalism and their work ethic. I would gladly recommend to anyone on the receiving end of a water heater problem.
I have used Affordable Pluming, Heating and Electrical several times and for different services. From scheduling, to estimates and completion of the service, they are professional and personable. The work has been done by knowledgeable, efficient people. They have always proven to me to be dependable and trusting. When they come in to give an estimate, they are prepared to get started on the the job. I appreciate that because it’s less time I have to take off work to be there. I will always call them first!
I don’t think I have ever left a negative review for anyone, so I don’t take it lightly.
Affordable came to my house because we apparently had a water heater leaking and the floor drain was backing up. They fixed the water heater for ~$800 by replacing a combination Pressure Relief Valve/Temperature & Pressure valve. I have since done a search and the most expensive of these I could find was ~$150. I guess $650 was for labor to solder a joint & screw in another. They said the drain line was clear and my daughter’s plunging must have cleared it.
2 days later, sewage was coming up from the floor drain and had reached the walls. They came back out and tried to snake it. Their snake was 100′ (I think that’s typical). They said they couldn’t reach the clog. They charged me $389 for trying.
The cure they said would be to cut out a 5’x5′ section of my drive way and excavate down 10-15′. From there they felt like their snake should reach. The cost would be ~$7,000. They offered a 10% discount though.
I sought a 2nd opinion. Another company came out, reached the clog and cleared it, then also called the city to come out & clear their portion. The cost was ~$500 . . . and that was on a Saturday.
The subjective part of this review was that I just felt like they were trying to squeeze me for everything they could. When I asked about water-jetting because I had read it could reach further, they said it was so messy and causes so many problems with contamination, etc. that they rarely if ever do it any more. And yet, they advertise it on their website as “the premier solution for stubborn plumbing clogs”.
I did like the individuals, themselves. They were professional & friendly.
Our 27 year old forced-air furnace quit working a few days ago. We had Affordable take a look to see if it could be repaired or if we needed to just replace it. Steve W said the problem was the gas valve, but the heater was so old that the part he needed was obsolete. He called around and found a “universal” part that he could make work. Then he spent 2 hours working hard to reroute the gas line to fit the new valve. Honestly, I thought he was going to have to admit defeat and schedule a replacement, but he kept working and talking to the heater (I’m sure I heard some threats of violence 😁), and finally he got it working. Affordable Heating and Plumbing is your very best choice for quality repairs at a reasonable price. Especially if you have older appliances that you are trying to get a few more years of use from. If it can be fixed, Affordable can do it. So grateful for Affordable and Steve W.
A rentor called me in a panic because her furnace went out. I was out of town and called Affordable Plumbing, Heat and Electrical. They responded in an hr and the tech called me within another hr to tell me the furnace needed a new ignitor and said it was all finished. The charge was about $750. I was shocked. It felt as though someone reached down my throat and pulled the cash out themselves. I called them back to ask for a breakdown and they told me $269 (roughly) for the service call and $300 in parts… that’s still not $750…I called the main office expressed my outrage and pointed out the part they were replacing was less then $30 on Amazon. I texted the tech with the same response. Later they refunded me a little less than half the fee. But not without me threatening to call the better business bureau…Business like this one are price-gouging because they can get away with it. Don’t be fooled. Make sure to ask for an itemized price list and shop for the materials and parts beforehand so you know what their mark-up really is.
